Zulema Simpson, age 70, passed away on May 24, 2021, in Corpus Christi, Texas surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 15, 1950 in San Diego, TX, to Jose G. Martinez and Emelia R. Martinez.
Zulema graduated from San Diego high school in 1968. She went on to earn many certifications including phlebotomy and an LVN license that contributed to her career of over 30 years in Nursing.
Zulema will be forever remebered for her amazing sense of humor, personality, always helping others, her love of scary movies, her nickname ZuZu (given by her great nieces) and the love that she had for her family.
Zulema Simpson is survived by her son, Michael J. Simpson, of Corpus Christi Texas; sisters, San Jaunita "Janie" Nevarez, of Alice Texas; Rosalinda "Rosie" Martinez of San Diego Texas; nephews, Pedro G. "Pete" Hinojosa Jr. of College Station Texas; Oscar "Rene" Martinez and Jose S. "Gino" Martinez of San Diego Texas; neices, Patricia G. Torres of Sandia; Vanessa M. Perez (Margarito "Maggie") of Alice Texas; and numerous cousins, great nieces, and nephews.
Zulema is preceded in death by her parents Jose G. Martinez and Emelia R. Martinez; brother, Jose R. "Pepe" Martinez; sister, Florinda "Flo" Hinijosa; and brother in laws, Pedro G. Hinijosa Sr. and Trini Nevarez.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held for Family to be announced at a later date for Miss Zulema Simpson.
